Supporting Women

National Womens Network

Well I have a very exciting weekend coming up and I’ve spent the afternoon doing what I do best in preparation for it. Yes you guessed it putting together a few bits and pieces to display ie scarves, jewellery, shoes etc etc!!!

So what is the event well www.national-womens-network.co.uk are celebrating their 30th anniversary and my local branch just happen to be hosting the celebrations as part of our yearly Well Being Day for Women in Business.

NETWORK was started in 1981 by a small group of senior women working in London. They wanted to find a way in which women at their level, often lacking peers in their own companies, could share interests and discuss mutual problems. They felt they needed both a formal organisation as well as the informality that such an organisation would create, allowing them to build up contacts with women from across the whole work spectrum. Since its inception, NETWORK has built up a thriving national membership with branches throughout the UK.

This year promises to be truly memorable and the local members are offering sample sessions from some of the fantastic trades and business they are involved in. To top it all Caroline Shaw CEO of leading cancer center The Christies NHS foundation Trust will be speaking and no doubt inspiring us all.

With branches from across the nation all coming together it just goes to show how much can be achieved when you have the support and encouragement of like-minded women to help you reach your goals in life.

So like I say I’ve been playing today (I can’t call it work!) with colours and fabrics to put on display, here’s one of them you’ll just have to attend to see the rest or to receive you personal free taster session.

  1. Ooh good to see I’ve got similar summer colouring going on to my Style Guru! It’s blues and turquoises over here right now :o)
Makes a change from pink and purple for me! Love what you’ve put together Allyson.
